Social Network Marketing

Social network marketing is the new terminology amongst online marketing professionals to promote their businesses online. Social media sites like Facebook, Twitter, Digg, LinkedIn, and Youtube have made it easy for eager entrepreneurs to hop on the internet and network with people from around the world. Terms like tweeting, sharing, and voting have created quite the buzz amongst those who want to hop aboard the viral marketing trend.

There’s a tremendous amount of opportunity for those that truly capitalize on the social network marketing boom. The social media craze is here to stay and if you follow the proper social etiquette and learn how to differentiate yourself from everyone else on the internet, you can become very successful using social marketing strategies.
Inbound Social Buzz surrounding the deep content of your website or blog not only increases the visibility of your content, it tells the search engines that your content is “popular”, “timely” and “relevant”…The search engines want this kind of content at the top. Simple and proven.

Social Buzz

Social Buzz is the new ranking factor. If many people are bookmarking your content they are telling the search engines that this content is “timely” and “relevant.” Each time a person bookmarks your content it creates another reference to your content. Each time another person bookmarks that same content then you increase your ranking and visibility within each bookmarking network and in the search engines

This viral network marketing is the secret element that most Internet marketers know absolutely nothing about. The reason is quite simple, viral marketing is relatively new and is a byproduct of the explosion in participation in online social networks. In other words, the top content in the search engines and the top content in social media networks are being controlled and manipulated by networks of millions people, who have come together in an agreement to vote for, share, distribute and propagate each relevant content.

Benefits of Social Network Marketing

  • Creates multiple search engine references to your content
  • Increases your rankings in the search engines for that content
  • Gives you at least 200% more visibility in the search engines
  • Leads more people to join your social channels
  • Causes more and more people to link to your content (backlinks)
  • Causes your content to be picked up and spread viral across many other networks besides the ones you are directly involved in.

Having the ability to influence the visibility of content within social networks is immensely powerful. Not only does it build social buzz (which Google loves) but it also builds incoming links. Incoming links arrive, not only from the networks where your content is shared; they also come in from tens, hundreds or thousands (depending on your content) of other blogs and websites who link to your content as a resource for their readers. This viral networking pushes your search engine rankings for your content up higher and higher while spreading your content all over the social web at the same time compounding your exposure.

Future of Online Marketing and SEO

I believe that in the near future, SEO as it currently exists will become obsolete and will be fully assimilated into the fabric of the social web. Over the past 15 years I have seen the changes leading up to this. In the early 90’s it was Infoseek that dominated the search space. Loading your webpage with your search terms got your 1st page ranking. As we came into the late 90’s the king was Yahoo and the “popular buzz” was the amount of backlinks to your site ranked you higher.  I proved this by ranking all top 20 positions on Yahoo from 1998 to 2002 and on Google in 2002. Then as Google became the dominate player PageRank became a major factor.  This was and is the quality of inbound links.  As the online digital age moves into an even faster way to communicate using social networks the Google will use these communication signals to determine what the “buzz” is and make that relevant in their search terms.  As we saw Yahoo give way to Google I truly believe we will see Google give way to Facebook.  With 25% of worlds population on Facebook it will become the Hub for online information.  Facebook and Twitter have already implemented search in their networks.
